Where everyone has an almost unlimited supply of cards, this then gets slowly drained as players stop the current player from winning as efficiently as possible. So when the rubber hits the road at level 9, it becomes Whack-A-Mole: The Card Game. It takes so long because there isn’t enough incentive to use any of your cards early. Coming from games like Clue and Uno, Munchkin was the first card game that let you play as a human thief with inflatable armbands wielding a rubber chicken. Instead, you’ll compare your strength gained from your level, items, race, class, and gender cards to that of all the monsters you’re fighting. If the card is a monster, you’ll fight it to death. You’ll be equipping hilariously named items and trying to defeat monsters thrown at you by other players.Įach turn starts with you metaphorically kicking down a door, by drawing a card from the event deck.
